José Aguilar Remembered...

The March 23, 1998 Daily Bulletin of the Roberto Clemente Commuunity Academy High School requested a moment of silence to honor a former teacher.

"Mr. José Aguilar died on March 17, 1998, after a year long battle against cancer. Many of you, whether student or faculty, were touched by this kind, caring and gentle man.

Mr. Aguilar, who taught art and computer graphics at Clemente for many years, will be remembered as a compassionate and dedicated educator, a man who loved learning and loved teaching.

He gave 110 percent of himself to our school, participated in Snowball, was involved in the Entrepreneur program, served as department chairperson, traveled to Japan as an educational representative, and was actively involved in all phases of curriculum planning and implementation.

Yet he always had time for his students and treated everyone with courtesy and respect.

He was a man of quiet dignity.

He will never be forgotten."
